Japanese Age of Samurai
A fast-paced, strategic card game
for all ages
Command your Daimyo. Shatter the walls. Conquer the circle.
The Legend
In feudal Japan, powerful Daimyo commanded armies and waged strategic wars for dominance. Taiko puts that power in your hands.
No shuffling. No luck of the draw. Every player begins with an identical army. Victory belongs entirely to the Daimyo who can read their opponent, anticipate their moves, and strike at the right moment.
Taiko is designed for Game Night — players can join or leave between episodes without disrupting the game. Rounds run 15–20 minutes, and once the first castle falls, the end comes swift.

Game Mechanics
Each player receives a Castle Scoring Mat, 3 wall tokens, and 7 cards of their color. Tokens are placed on the castle and on both "3" marks representing your protective walls.
Place two cards face down — one to your right, one to your left. The remaining 5 cards stay in hand for future battles. No peeking.
When all players are ready, every card is flipped at once. No taking moves back. Each pair of neighboring cards represents a battle — the weaker card loses a wall.
After battles, cards are swapped between neighbors. A clever Daimyo takes strategic losses to collect stronger cards and prepare a devastating counterattack.
Destroy all 3 of an opponent's walls, then win the next battle against them to capture their castle and eliminate them. The last Daimyo standing becomes the new TAIKO.
Why Taiko
No random card draws. Identical starting armies. Every win and loss is a direct reflection of your reads and decisions.
Tear down walls, expose the castle, and strike the killing blow. Tension builds with every round as walls crumble across the circle.
Players can join or leave between episodes without breaking the scoring. Perfect for gatherings where people drift in and out.
Each episode runs 15–20 minutes. Once the first castle falls, the end comes quick — no one sits out for long.
Special Elite Cards carry unique abilities and devastating surprises. Even the most powerful warrior has a weakness.
Cards flow between players after every battle, keeping power balanced and giving the underdog a path back into the fight.
Command your Daimyo. Break their walls. Become the TAIKO.
